Motorcyclist Takes A Break While On Freeway
Somewhere in India, you will find a very much crazy motorcyclist that will ride on his motorbike while laying back, chilling and chatting on his mobile phone. He does all this without displaying a care in the world. That’s some ball of steels or just plain lack of sanity.
Take a look:
As the guy in the video said “that’s indeed one crazy dude”.
Thai Commercial About ‘Black’ Toothpaste
I always have a predisposition on how Thailand have world-class marketers from the dozen of great Thai commercials I’ve seen. Most of them tell a story to attract your attention and, of course, the punch line always ends up being some sort of unexpected product.
This commercial is no different and has a fairly interesting story behind it:
Beijing 2008 Summer Olympic Games Begins!

“Here lies a sleeping giant (China), let it sleep, for when he wakes up, the world will tremble”
- Napoléon Bonaparte
Centuries later, on August, 8th of 2008 at 8:08pm the meaning of Napoleon’s words comes to life…
The grand opening for the Beijing 2008 Summer Olympic Games had China display its culture and achievements to the world - showcasing the four great Chinese inventions (Paper, Gunpowder, Compass and Printing press) and other milestone events in their history such as sending their first Chinese astronaut to space. The opening ceremony itself was viewed by an estimated 3 billion people! Literally, all eyes was on China. That’s why the event meant so much for them (China invested $43 billion into the games).
The Opening ceremony itself was magnificent. The Chinese kept the ceremony fairly simple, yet interesting through the ‘Chinese touch’ and the use of LED screens, dancers and aerial acrobatics - which is nothing new at the Olympic ceremonies. The major themes of the ceremony was ‘the green games‘ and their Olympic motto of ‘One world, one dream‘.
However, what really drawn my attention was their military precision on everything (after all, most of the people were from the military). Another major highlight that I truly enjoyed watching was how they lit the Olympic torch (a man running on the wall of the stadium - a very Chinese touch).

If you have missed the ceremony, here’s a little teaser of a video from Reuters:

Total Solar Eclipse Viewed From China

As the long awaited 2008 Beijing Olympic Games comes into realisation in one day’s time for the Chinese and the rest of the world; let us enjoy this moment that could be marked as the true dawn of the so-called ‘Chinese Century‘ by our future generations with a magnificent photo of the total solar eclipse in August 1st of 2008 as viewed from China.
The photo is shot by David Gray and takes place at the Jiayuguan Fort on the Great Wall of China in the town of Jiayuguan, Gansu Province, China. (Sadly, the eclipse couldn’t be seen from where I was.)
Eclipse and controversy aside, I do hope China have a dazzling Olympic and maybe, just maybe, people should start seeing China from a ‘new light’.

First Trailer of Tengen Toppa Gurren Lagann Movie

A moment most have been waiting for. The first full trailer of the epic Tengen Toppa Gurren Lagann movie.
Tengen Toppa Gurren Lagann the Movie: Crimson Chapter will open in Japan on September 6. The trailer itself doesn’t have any new cut-scenes from the movie. Is Gainax doing this to create a bigger hype? or maybe the movie itself will just be a repeat of the anime series?
Here’s the trailer!
The official site of the trailer can be viewed here.

Japan Joins Red Alert 3

The empire of the rising sun is joining the ever so popular RTS, Red Alert 3 in their next instalment. Not surprising, the Japanese gets some badass gear, like mechas and macross-like transforming planes.
I’m not sure why Red Alert 3 decided to add these new kickass features in the game, possibly they realise there is a huge untapped Otaku market or maybe the guys behind Red Alert at EA are just closet otakus to begin with? One thing is for sure though - Mecha-lovers and Otakus alike will be enjoying this new release!
Here’s the E3 Trailer:
You can visit Red Alert 3’s site here for more information.
To be honest, I grew out of Red Alert after the 1st instalment (started playing C&C Generals), but with these new features, I’m sure I willl be getting my hands on one very soon.

Inspiring Chinese woman
Today’s post is somewhat inspirational and a change of the usual posts we see on tba. Today’s post is about a Chinese woman who resides in Shan Dong Province, China. Not ruining the video for you folks, I will explain the rest after you watch it below. (The video is in Cantonese/Mandarin, but the main point of the video can be understood beyond the language barrier)
Here’s the video:
Translating the main points, the armless woman is named Ren Ji Mei. She was born armless and her mother wanted to dump her into the sea, but her father decided to keep her as a ‘pet dog’ (I’m not sure what to say about this part). But as you can see, her disability has not stopped her from enjoying life. She is able to use her feet so well for so many things that some people with arms can not do. Quite a remarkable and inspiring woman indeed.
Judging from the video’s quality, it would seem that it happened quite some time ago. If anyone knows the exact date, please do tell!
