1. Super Mario Galaxy sells itself – Dark Diamond
The first official Japanese TV Spot for Super Mario Galaxy is shown in Japan. From what i can see Nintendo has done the Mario franchise proud with this new addition to the series! Go take a look at the video in the link and decide for yourselves. It seems Bowser is back, and he’s nastier than ever.
2. Gears of War PC Officially Gold - 1up
One of the best games last year on the Xbox 360 is finally coming to the PC! Whether Microsoft just wanted to earn some extra money or not, it’s good news for any FPS enthusiast!
3. Major survey ranks Singapore’s education among the world’s best: MM Lee – Channel News Asia
It turns out that an independent report has ranked Singapore’s education system as one of the top five in the world! Great news, but still doesn’t change the fact the system is very strict.
4. China has 345,000 millionaires, 4,935 “super rich” – Chinanews
The numbers of millionaires in China are increasing by 7.8% since 2005, with the total being at 345,000 currently. Impressive stuff, i guess Asia is getting richer!
5. Translate Manga for Manga bucks – Japan Newbie
Manganovel Corporation will let you translate Japanese Manga for them into your own chosen language while you get to earn royalty from sales. A “by fan, for fan” system might just help with the quality of translation and, hey! Money is always a good motivator!
6. New Miyazaki Film Delayed? – Akadot News
Hayao Miyazaki’s new film, “Ponyo on a Cliff” is being delayed due to a rush job on the last 10 minutes of the film that will need to be redone. I would rather wait a few more months to watch his newest film, rather than watch it sooner and be dissatisfied. The story is about a 5 year old boy and a goldfish princess named Ponyo who wants to be human.
7. Japanese “Best Ass” Contest – Weird Asia News
Sloggi, an underwear company created the “Show Me Your Sloggi” competition, or in other words, “Best Bum” competition. Kaho Watanabe, an 18 year-old girl won it and surprisingly she had burned her bum a few days before the contest.
8. Three of China’s most powerful politicians step down – Channel News Asia
We Finish this week’s highlight with some politics, it seems thress of China’s most powerful politicians, apart from President Hu has resigned. Zeng, 68, Wu Guanzheng, 69, and Luo Gan, 72 will not keep their posts on the party’s elite nine-member Standing Committee, which rules the country.
