Canned ramen

Taking convenience to a whole new level! Foodstuffs, a Japanese company has been selling canned ramen noodles since April this year in Japan and it seems to be a big hit with the Japanese! With 5.5 million vending machine around Japan, it won’t be hard to get your hands on a canned ramen! The canned ramen comes in three flavours: miso and shoyu which is sold at $2.50, while the most popular flavour currently is cold ramen which is sold at $3.00.

The company’s next step is to improve the ramen, which is currently being made from “devil’s tongue plants”, as normal ramen that are made from wheat will get soggy when put into soup, while devil’s tongue ramen won’t and it can also be stored for upto 3 years. Right now, the company has released canned udon (thick noodles) and are aimming to offer more flavours for their popular canned product!
