TBA’s Five With Monkey D. Luffy (One Piece)

TBA: Today’s guest is a mega-star in the anime universe. Monkey D. Luffy, thank you for taking time off One Piece to join us today for an exclusive interview.


Ardeh! The pleasure is all mine! How can I refuse after you offered so much delicious food to me! Shishishishi…


TBA: Har Har Har, eat up! Shall you introduce yourself to our dear readers? It’s just formality.


You have a weird laugh! I like it! Sure thing, I like introductions.


Hi, I’m Monkey D. Luffy! And I’m going to become the Pirate King! I’m the captain of the straw hat pirates, and I like interesting things! I’m currently sailing the grand line, heading to the New World to find One Piece with my friends, my Nakamas!


I’m always looking for interesting nakamas, so come join me!



TBA: Thank you for the outstanding introduction! You say you’re a pirate, but we normally picture pirates as people that pillage, steals, hurt and do bad things to people. Yet, you have done none of that. Instead, you have saved many people and even countries while you have brushes with the law, all of them were for good causes.


How do you explain that?


Shishishishi! I am definitely a pirate! A pirate doesn’t hurt others! I see pirates as people who are free, roaming the oceans, looking for adventures!


As pirates we seek freedom and adventure with our nakamas! Those that hurt others are just bad people!


Of course we’re not fond of rules either! We have no respect to the status quo! Maybe because of that, we’re called trouble makers! But, damn it! If we see someone being wronged, we step in, and we right those wrongs!


TBA: Very insightful thoughts there! Totally changed my perception of pirates! Moving on. We can tell that you value your nakamas a lot. All your nakamas are so interesting in their own right, but who would you pick as your favourite?


That’s a tough one! All of them are important to me! Hmmm… Zoro was my first crew mate, Chopper is always bandaging me, and then Usopp’s nose is always amusing to watch…


Brook always play interesting tunes and cracking skull jokes in serious situation. Franky built us this new awesome ship! Nami and Robin are always supporting me… But Sanji cooks the most delicious food!


It has to be Sanji! He always keeps my stomach full!


TBA: As a pirate, what is your worst nightmare?


My greatest fear is not being able to protect my nakama. That’s why I must get stronger!


But I’ve also been having this recurring nightmare lately. I don’t even know who he is, but he keeps stealing my favourite seat on Merry Go!


TBA: Hmmm, he looks like a pirate that I’ve seen in the Caribbeans.


Caribbean? Where’s that?





TBA: Let’s just say it’s somewhere in the New World. Anyway, let’s get a little personal. You’ve been on the sea for a long time now and met a lot of people. Do you have a crush on anyone in particular?


Crush?


You know, ‘Love’.


Ehhh, Love? What’s that?… Is it edible?


TBA: It can be sometimes. How about this, if you could only choose one person to share your favourite dish with, who would it be?


Sugoiiiiii! I need to get Sanji to make it for me some time!


Someone to share my favourite dish with… CHOPPER! He’s so small; He’ll need to eat a lot to grow up big and strong!


TBA: Okay… Let’s move on. How about your dream to become Pirate King, do you have any plans for what is to come after?


Go on more adventure? Haven’t really thought about it. I’ve been busy with a lot of stuff lately. I’ll probably use my share of One Piece to buy all the meat I can eat. Shishishishi.


TBA: We’re reaching the end of the interview, so one last request. We all know your dream to become the Pirate King, could you teach us a few lessons on how to follow our dreams with perseverance and determination like you have?

For sure! As long as your dreams isn’t to be the pirate king too, of course!


Advice eh? Hmm… You should always chase after your dreams with a full stomach! Always eat your meals! That way you’ll have plenty of energy and grow up strong, like me!


Perseverance and determination? That’s easy, if you don’t have it while chasing your dreams then you’re probably chasing the wrong dreams! Perseverance and determination comes naturally when you have the right dreams and when you are protecting your nakamas!
