One Piece, Chapter 567: Marine headquarters, Oris plaza

Mmmmm… Fruity pirates.

Summary:


Cover page – The strawhat crew dresses up in fruits. Can you guess what Brook is trying to see?


The pirates begin their rampage through the plaza while also getting out of Whitebeard’s way.


Aokiji engages whitebeard, but his attacks are futile. Diamond Jozu then intrudes allowing Whitebeard to continue forward.


Meanwhile, Luffy gets beaten unconscious and is returned to Whitebeard. Akainu then becomes Whitebeard’s new opponent.


Marco who tries to rescue Ace is punched to the ground by Garp who has at last joined the fight as the pirates look at him in awe and admiration.

Honestly, I did let out a small fangirlish squirm inside me when Garp joined the fight.


I was caught a bit off guard with Garp drawing so much admiration/respect when he entered the fight, more admirations than the 3 admirals did. I suppose it’s because he’s from Roger’s era and I would like to think that he is stronger than the admirals as well.


Soulboy has a point about Luffy getting sidelined from the fight, maybe his next ‘power-up’ is learning to use his brain more, thus this arc may teach him that recklessness and guts isn’t enough to win all the fights.


Logically thinking, by using his brains more, he’ll finally be able to control his haki.


Whether Luffy is temporary or permanently put out of commission in this battle is an important question. I really doubt he’ll sit out the rest of the fight, he is the main man after all, but maybe for just this arc, Whitebeard may just take that title.


I really don’t think Sengoku will join in the fight next chapter, but rather, next chapter will most likely introduce who is Garp’s ‘sparring’ partner is.


Soulboy:
This war is starting to get on my nerves; maybe it is getting too draggy for me or perhaps Garps and Sengoku are still not involved in the fight that I anticipated.


But thinking back they are suppose to be the last line of defense so they will just stop anyone who gets to the platform instead of charging straight to Whitebeard.


And what’s with Marco? What is the point of looking all bad-ass when he can’t even land a hit on the Admirals. He is supposed to be scarier than Logia, no?


Even Jose managed to make Aokiji bled; all he did was to get a punch in the face. What a shame.


Anyway, getting Luffy out of this war at least for now is nicely done. Since he is out of his league, it would be lame to see him continue fighting his way through recklessly.


With Garp sitting on the Admiral seat, where he should have been belonged, who will be the next brave soul, Jimbei perhaps?



His name is Garp.
