One Piece, Chapter 565: Oars’ Road

Summary:
Cover page – Brook is getting a bit too friendly with a very artistic zebra.


The world is in an uproar after the last den den mushi visuals of the huge war on MarineFord were cut off.


In the shadowy distance, the supernovas that survived chatter away about the current events on MarineFord and looks to set sail very soon.


On MarineFord, chaos is everywhere as Akainu’s magma shower pulverises the pirates who are still trapped in the encircling wall which even Whitebeard cannot break.


The impact of Whitebeard’s attack wakes Oars who is already near death. Meanwhile, Luffy gets Jimbei to help launch him over the wall to where the three admirals are. He attacks them wildly, but he seems to be just hitting thin air.


On the other side of the wall, Whitebeard readies his ‘trump card’ and his men to attack through the path that Oars has provided…




Luffy is either stupid or very gutsy. We’ve known him long enough to know its which.

It was a surprise to see Oda reveal the survival of the supernovas during this chapter, amidst such an extreme arc. Even more astonishing is that some of them might even be related to Whitebeard, and they could possibly be sailing to them to assist with their escape from Marineford.


It was predictable that the pirates will take the path that Oars has opened up.


This chapter also shows a new trend – the story is finally focusing back on to Luffy. Which I can’t say I don’t mind, but I do hope Whitebeard get an appropriate amount of face time before he meet his maker.


With Sengoku announcing Ace’s executing, I would think Ace would either be saved or dead veryyy soon, probably within 2-3 chapters’ time.


The mystery of the chapter though would be Whitebeard’s ‘trump card’. He still has one after this far into the fight? The fact that he told Jozu is a clue. Now I’m going out on a limb here, maybe he’ll use his quake ability to shoot the diamond-formed Jozu at the wall to destroy it?


Soulboy:
It is real nice to see that the Supernovas are back again, not mentioning that they might be setting sail to help Whitebeard out.


I guess they just couldn’t let Luffy be the only Supernova to have a bounty raise after this war.


Anyway, I feel that Akainu’s attack fall short a bit as I expected more damages and deaths. But it is a nice touch there where Whitebeard apologize to Moby Dick. Reminds me of Luffy with Going Merry.


I hope Garp will do something unexpected to surprise Sengoku and all of us.


And perhaps Luffy will deliver a deadly blow on one of the Admirals with haki as he is being underestimated?


Could the trump card be a combination of devil fruit powers that can blow us away or reinforcement? Either way, it’s going to be epic.
