One Piece, Chapter 563: One Heart, One Man

Summary:

Right where we left off – Whitebeard stabbed!


Luffy, the pirates, the Shichibukais, the whole Grand Line are stunned!


In a blink of an eye, Marco subdues Squad and demands an explanation. It’s revealed that Akainu told Squad that the whole war was a trap and that Whitebeard was exchanging his allies life for those of his own crew and for Ace’s.


Just before the whole scheme is disclosed, Aokiji freezes and destroys the last visuals den den mushi.


As Crocodile lets out a roar at Whitebeard’s weakness, Whitebeard embraces Squad and ask that he befriend Ace once more.


He destroys the ice enclosing the pirates just before charging into battle himself and commands the pirates to choose to run or fight with him!


The world’s strongest man is about to strike!




I’d cry too if I was man-hugged by the world’s strongest man.

This chapter went above and beyond my expectations even with the dramatic cliff hanger at the end of the previous chapter.


I figured it’ll be more about Squad’s betrayal, but Whitebeard stole the limelight with his bravado and gallant words. Oh Oda, why must you torture us, another week’s break?!


To the Yonkou, the rival of Gold Roger, the world’s strongest man, to the man known as Whitebeard – I salute you. Your epicness surpasses the likes of Kenshiro and Kamina even if for just this chapter.


Still, it is quite extraordinary that a prominent marine admiral like Akainu could slip away from battle to speak with Squad without being noticed.


An interesting point for this week’s chapter is how the main character of One Piece was only given one panel; even crocodile got a bigger panel!


Next chapter, the world’s strongest man strikes! Even I can’t say what’s going to happen. My best guess is that the next few chapters will focus on Whitebeard’s assault instead of Luffy’s. And damnit, I’m so looking forward to it, as they say: A candle burns brightest right before flickering out.


Soulboy:
Will Squad get back on his feet to save Ace, sacrificing his life to atone for his sins?


It would be sad for Whitebeard if he died without clearing his name, now that the whole world thinks he sold out his nakamas.


Mobilising the encircling wall after the last den den mushi was intercepted? Something smells fishy here. Perhaps there will be another massacre that Sengoku don’t want the whole world to know?


What will happen to Buggy? I got a feeling that somehow Akainu’s volcanic rocks will land beside Buggy, melting the ice, while fighting Whitebeard or Squad.


I really hope Sengoku will have some devil fruit abilities to fit his “The Buddha” title, and reveal it while fighting Whitebeard, Luffy, or anyone else trying to save Ace.


ONWARD!!!!



The marines are going to be in a world of pain, especially Akainu and Sengoku

   No matter how good a strategy is, can it ever account for a person’s manliness? Whitebeard is the answer to that one haha.
