One Piece, Chapter 562: Pirate Vortex Spider Squad

Summary:
Cover page – Cute little ducks forming a line behind Robin. Another filler cover page.
The Pacifista army proceeds with encircling the pirates and are met with little resistance. The pirates are then forced to push forward.
Luffy, who is already charging towards Ace is stopped by Admiral Kizaru. However, Whitebeard’s very capable division captains comes to support him.
As the pirates push forward, the marines decide to fall back and regroup, this leads to the other Shichibukai also retreating for the moment.
The marines continue to try to cut the media feeds while all this is happening, but Buggy’s men have made their job more difficult by stealing one to promote Buggy’s reputation to the rest of the Grand Line.
Meanwhile the pirates continue their assault, Squad finally shows up. As both Squad and Whitebeard prepares to head into battle too…

With that many Pacifistas, I’m surprised the Island isn’t flattened yet.
Buggy’s endorsement in the middle of the chapter provided a bit of comic relief. Ah! The problems with live broadcasting – you can’t do it twice!
On to the big twist of the chapter! Haha, I still can’t believe it! Soulboy actually foresaw this too, how do you do it man? I guess Squad’s disappearance must have been for negotiations with the marines.
Next chapter will definitely show the repercussions of Squad’s betrayal, probably along the lines of the marines explaining their arrangement with him and Squad getting pulverised by Marco and Jozu. Nah, I kid! He’ll probably vortex himself away before that happens.
Definitely looking forward to Whitebeard’s reaction! Is he going to cry and go “Why, my son? WHY!?” or become all angry and infuriated? That’s just a flesh wound to him.
Things are looking bleak for the pirates though, with things as it is, they will probably end up rescuing ace and fleeing without the presence of Whitebeard.
Soulboy:
There is no way Whitebeard is going down without a fight. It is way too soon for him to die.
I am sure Squad will get his fair share of the Gura Gura power. The Pacifista will then backup Squad as planned though.
Whitebeard will then defend the rear and stall time for the rest to break through the platform after rescuing Ace. Maybe there will be some ships waiting for them behind the island.
And with his dying breath, he would tell Ace to become the Pirate King.
Perhaps this will be the key to trigger Luffy’s Haki also.
So my guess is that Ace is going to be rescued in 2 or 3 more chapters. With 7 squad captains, the strength of a hundred men, and Jimbei. I don’t see how much longer it would take them to rescue Ace.
Don’t worry guys, I wouldn’t even call that a flesh wound. But he sure did break my heart.
