Twins Escape Death Penalty In Malaysia

If the police walked into your house and found enough cannabis (Marijuana) and raw opium to make you a millionaire drug trafficker, you know you’re heading straight to the gallows. But for one lucky drug-trafficker in Malaysia, with piles of evidence against him, was acquitted from the death penalty because of one small problem — the police don’t know which of the twins committed the crime! Only in Malaysia!


In the words of the high court judge himself:

“This is a very unique case as they are identical twins (R. Sathis Raj and Sabarish Raj). I can’t be calling the wrong twin to enter his defence. I can’t be sending the wrong person to the gallows.” - ChannelNewsAsia

Now, I’m not saying all you identical twins out there should go be drug-traffickers, because that is wrong. Remember kids, drugs are bad! Anyhow, back to the topic. My personal opinion is that the court should have extended the case to allow more time to determine exactly which of the twins was the actual culprit. After all, letting a drug-trafficker go free with no penalties just because he’s an identical twin seems stupid. What do you think?
