Rhino Escape Training In Japan

Being the creative and cautious. The Japanese zoos always prepare for the worse and hope for the best. Below you can watch a video of some Japanese zoo staff’s whimsical attempt to guide, tranquillise and secure a ‘rhino’ that has apparently escaped from its zoo enclosure.


The zoo keepers stand behind flimsy nets to direct the rhino to the ambush location, but the rhino keeps deviating from its course and causes trouble to the staffs. Eventually, the hard work of the staff pays off as a sharpshooter (the non-lethal kind) tranquillises the rampaging beast at the designated position and the zoo staffs quickly surrounds and ties the rhino with a net.

I hope many of you, like me, after watching that video were thinking that the zoo keepers should revise their action plan for capturing zoo animal escapees, especially the type that weighs a few tonnes…
