Formula One night race in Singapore

On a small tropical island of Singapore, things are about to get a lot hotter and faster! The FIA has approved Singapore to host their first ever Formula One race next year, on 28th of September. With such a exciting event taking place, it is expected that tourism will with bring in an approximate revenue of $100 million to the already very popular tourism island!

Formula One Singapore!

Being Singapore, they aims to host this spectacular race at night, a first ever in Formula One History! That is, if the floodlight trials are approved by the safety requirement of the FIA, FOA and Formula One teams. It will also be Asia’s first ever street race!

The race will span about five kilometres, with 14 left-hand turns and 10 right-hand turns, said Mr Iswaran, meaning there will be several thrilling straights and tight turns for dramatic action. The Land Transport Authority will be managing modifications to some existing infrastructure such as road kerbs and traffic islands. It will also construct a new 1.2-kilometre road along the pit building. - Channelnewsasia

Showing Malaysia that they can host their own Formula One race too, being the first ever night race it will certainly be a race not to be missed! I’ll be sure to watch Singapore’s debut F1 race next year!
